Previous information follows

The event will start with a short talk on Campanology.
A little history, then explanation of Change Ringing.

Followed by a demonstration of Plain Hunting on 6, then 8 bells

Progressively more complex ringing,

Finally a course of Superlative Surprise Major
that takes 8 minutes
to celebrate Benjamin Thackrah, a Dewsbury Ringer who devised the method in 1821.

The event will take 16 visitors, involve climbing our ancient spiral stone staircase to the ringing room.
